Home inspection is an effective tool for buyers to identify the hidden defects of a home that can largely protect their consumer's rights.
Presale purchase
Buyers can opt not doing home inspection in a presale purchase transaction, for new built homes comes with a 10-year New Home Warranty, and developer will walk through defects inspection with the buyer before completion.
Resale purchase
Buyers are highly recommended to hire a professional home inspector to perform home inspection before closing the deal in a resale purchase transaction, for used homes could contain hidden defects, e.g. leaking problem, underground oil tank, unauthorized construction, chem. lab, use of asbestos building materials, structural problem etc.
In case the defects found in the home inspection are critically unacceptable, buyers can legally withdraw his offer from the contract.

買房驗屋
驗屋可有效減低買家買入劣質物業的風險, 並保障買家的權益。
購買樓花
新建房屋附「10年新屋保養保證」,並發展商在交樓前陪同買家驗屋,買家可自行決定安排額外驗屋與否。
購買現樓
二手樓/現樓可隱藏缺點,如漏水問題、地下油庫、非法僭建、製毒工場、結構問題、石棉建材等,建議買家在成交前聘請專業驗樓師進行驗屋。萬一驗屋時發現的缺點太嚴重並不能接受,買家有權取消之前落的出價。
